Written, not scraped
Each entry is prose. We do not publish spec tables, and we avoid precise figures that would be stale within a season.
International by default
The sixteen properties sit across Europe, Asia and North America. Nothing here is framed as domestic or foreign; the categories cross borders, so the index does too.
Nothing for sale
No bookings, no commissions, no paid placement. If a property is listed it is because it fits the category, and for no other reason.

How to use this index
Read a category page end to end rather than skimming for a winner. The four entries in each are chosen to be different from one another — a converted villa next to a purpose-built block, an airport cabin next to a ski-town pod — so the contrast inside the page carries as much information as any single write-up. When something matters to your trip, confirm it with the property directly; hotels renovate, seasons shift, and ice hotels in particular exist only for part of the year.
